Today, my cell phone rang and Abe was on the other end
Hooray! It was so good to hear his voice after not hearing from him for six days. It felt like an eternity… I can’t imagine what it was like having a loved one in any war of the past. Wowzers. Not being in contact for years… I can hardly handle six days! I’m a wimp
Abe says it’s sandy, dusty, windy and hot. But all-in-all things have improved from when he first arrived
He’s in his own room now, in a building! No more sleeping in a tent! He’s getting to know his area of the base and starting to do his job now, which is great. He says to tell everyone “hello” and that he loves you all and he misses home. Remember, he has a mailing address now… don’t hesitate to ask me for it
He likes stuff like pictures, magazines, snacks, etc. If you’d like anything more specific, again feel free to ask!
So, that’s my little update! Thank you all for keeping him and his comrades in your thoughts and prayers
I know I’m all the time saying that but it doesn’t make it any less genuine. It really means so much to me that you’re thinking about not only Abe but his entire unit and the Brigade! We all want our Hoosier guys and gals to come home safe and I think your prayers make a difference
So thank you!
