Promoted!

September 30, 2008

On Saturday, Abe was promoted to Staff Sergeant! Woohoo! Here’s a message from him to all of you, celebrating his awesome accomplishment:

I want to thank you all for the congrats! I’m very thankful to God for blessing me with the opportunities that I have had as a young man. I have really taken this part of my life seriously, putting forth a lot of effort and sacrificing a lot of time with my family and friends. I want to thank my wife, family and friends for the great support through the years! It’s truly an honor to get this promotion to Staff Sergeant in the US Army and to serve this great country. The greatest honor is to serve the great American people like you guys. Thanks again! I can’t wait to come home!!! :)

Hayden and Beau!

September 25, 2008

It’s three thirty a.m.! I don’t know why on Earth I’m still awake -but, I’m so happy with these photos that I wanted to post them right away! And right NOW is right away!

I really don’t know what to say, other than, I LOVE THESE BOYS!!! :)

Seriously… if they were any more adorable I don’t know what I’d do.

And I KNOW Papaw Rob will love the photo of Hayden and Maggie cuddling :) SO sweet.

…on that note, goodnight!

Another Week Down!

Can you believe there’s only one week of September left.

Where has the time gone?! I don’t know, but I’m super glad to see it passing so quickly!

Have a blessed week, everyone :)

Hayden and Beau :) Sneak Peek

September 22, 2008

Boy oh boy oh boy.

These two boys are soooo stinking cute :)

AND they just happen to be mine and Abe’s nephews!

…I may be a little proud :)

Here’s a sneak peek… I should have more up mid-to-late this week.

Dear goodness.

Adorable. :)

…by the way – I uploaded the photos a little differently. I notice a GINORMOUS difference. Do you?!

That’s What It’s All About.

September 17, 2008

Back on September 11th, Abe was able to participate in the Freedom Walk at his base in Iraq. It was an opportunity for the soldiers to come together as a community to remember and reflect on what they’re fighting for. The freedom of the people of the United States of America. Freedom from terrorism. Freedom from the oppression of a socialist or fascist or communist regime… They’re fighting for our country’s ability to remain a democracy and to not fall prey to the entities that have destroyed other great nations in the past. THAT is what they’re fighting for and I’m so proud of all of them and I am proud to be a citizen of the USA!

Anyhow – got off on a tangent there – Abe sent some photos from the Freedom Walk that I thought you all might enjoy :)

This wall included the names of every life lost on September 11th, when terrorists attacked our great nation.

The soldiers were able to sign this wall and write a message of support.

During the walk. Check out Old Glory :)

Where the war began.

I hope you all have a blessed rest of the week and continue to keep our men and women of the 76th in your thoughts and prayers as this deployment draws closer to an end!

Much love :)
