I am Thankful…

November 28, 2008

…for the safe return of my husband back to the United States of America!

homecoming1

I’m also thankful for the countless many of you who have been praying every day for the safety of the 76th ID as they have served in Iraq. You are all amazing and I’m so blessed that all of you have been so supportive of Abe and I this year!!!

Thank you all soooo much!

I’ll post more pictures from the reunion sometime this weekend, though I’ll warn you, there aren’t very many. You could say I was emotionally involved during our brief visit :)

Abe will be “demobing” at Atterbury for the next several days but he’ll be home for good in less than a week!!! Woohoo!

Again – thank you all so much for your continued prayers and support! It means much more than you could ever know.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Much Love,

The2Carmans :D

Sprucing Things Up.

November 20, 2008

SO. As most of you – if not all of you – know, I’m working on doing a little somethin’ somethin’ with all these pictures I like to take.

If you reach back into your memory, not too far now, you’ll remember this little abomination.

Now, the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

There was a real problem with that attempted logo ;)

The second step is acceptance… and the third, and final, step is hiring a professional to design it for you since you know you’re like, a total loser, at designing that type of thing.

This is where April of Blu Sky Designs comes into my life. Lovely, precious April who has saved my future in photography from the doom and gloom created by an awful logo.

She created THIS

AND this

logo2

AND a few others for me :)

I cannot WAIT to stamp a photo with one of my fancy, schmancy new logos!

AND cannot wait to launch my eventual photography-only website.

Don’t worry, this blog will still get some photo love!

ANNNNNDDDDD another non-photography/business/I-lack-designing-skills UPDATE.

My husband, my darling, wonderful, fabulous, amazing husband, will be (should be, in Army speak) in the good ol’ USA sometime NEXT WEEK!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! SO EXCITING :D

Remembering Those Who Serve

November 12, 2008

I’ve found myself thinking a lot today about the men and women who have fought for our nation. Those soldiers who have put their lives on hold, their lives on the line, sometimes even some giving the ultimate sacrifice… all for the United States of America. Thinking about all of these soldiers, past and present, who have served, those who have impacted the freedoms and rights we can claim today, makes my heart overflow with pride and humility.

Thank you, every one of you, for your service to me, my family and the United States of America.

Of course, one Veteran holds a special place in my heart…

Abe, thank you SO MUCH for your service. I think, every day, about how your service impacts my life daily. Not only are you my husband, you are the protector of our Nation, our home, our freedoms. You amaze me daily and I am sooo proud of the man you are! I miss you soooo very much but the missing you cannot and does not outweigh the incredible pride and thankfulness I have for your service.

Basically, you ROCK :)

Plus, you’re easy on the eyes ;)

SEE YOU SOON!

Another Week Down!

November 5, 2008

countdown

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE ARE GETTING SOOOOO CLOSE!!!!

I have to get this off my chest. If you are reading this, PLEASE PRAY DAILY FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR NATION. Pray that our president-elect daily seeks the council not of his advisors or his political buddies but that he seeks the wisdom of our Lord and Savior. Pray that he will lead our nation in a way that is pleasing above all to God but also for the the hard-working citizens of the United States of America…

Another Week Down!

October 29, 2008

Well, strap in tight, folks! We’re getting down to the nitty gritty of the deployment :)

In all likelihood, Abe will not be home for Thanksgiving but there is a possibility that he could be in the great USA! So, though the countdown isn’t really accurate, we’ll just call it a countdown to the final countdown :) It’s still incredibly exciting to see that bit o’ red shrink every week!!! Woohoo!!!

AAAAANNNDDDD just to prove just how VERY CLOSE we are to his homecoming, check out what I received in the mail yesterday!

I’ve never been so excited in all my life to see a nondescript, black, padlocked tote in all my life :) It took some creativity with a crow bar to pop ‘er open but I got in there! I don’t want to say what was in it, in case some of the Iraqi goods are presents for folks but I’ll just say it was packed full! :D

To make the end of the deployment that much sweeter my Swiss Sis, Noemi, flew in tonight/this morning :) HOORAY! She hasn’t been back to the USA since mine and Abe’s wedding back in ‘06. It’ll be awesome to have her here for the next couple weeks!

On that note, it’s 1:45 a.m. so it’s about time I rest my weary bones :)

Have a blessed week, everyone!
