Age 7 months

Weight my guess is around 22 pounds but I’m a wiener and tend to overestimate.

Length he was 28.5″ at his 6 month appointment so maybe 29.5″? who knows?

Size he wears 6-12 month, 9 month, 12 month and 18 month outfits

Hair he has tons of crazy hair it’s so fun!

Teeth 2 on the bottom, both lateral incisors.

Sleeping Same as last month – sleep is hit-or-miss. Some nights he’ll only wake once to eat, other nights he’s up three to four times. Yikes. Those nights are long. He takes two long naps each day and a few cat naps.

Milestones I never know what to put here. haha. it seems he’s doing something new and different everyday.

Words/sounds he is constantly yammering on and on! he like to squeak and squeal, say “dada, baba, mama”. Usually only “mama” when he’s sad though. stinker.

So that’s how the little guy is doing Our precious baby. Can’t imagine our world without him anymore!

Our little big boy is already six months old! It is so amazing to watch him grow and change each day.

Age 6 months

Weight we will find out for sure on Monday but my guess is around 20ish pounds

Milestones He can now sit unassisted for a long time. It’s crazy. He likes to carry toys and blankets around when we’re walking and enjoys passing toys from hand-to-hand – he seems impressed at his own abilities. He is a pro raspberry blower now and loves to make them all the time. He also likes making high-pitched squeaky noises – it’s as if he is learning his voice and how to use it. So cool to watch.

Words/sounds Like I mentioned before, he’s squeaking and blowing raspberries constantly now He loves to babble and we whisper conversations all the time. So fun!

I still need to upload pictures from Christmas. I’m so terrible at blogging these days. So sorry.

Anyhow! I’ll be updating again, hopefully around Monday, to let y’all know Grady’s “stats” from his 6 month well check.

This post is pretty late, seeing how Grady is already 5 months 12 days old (oops!) but here we go anyhow!

A few of my friends use this format to keep friends and family up-to-date on their little ones, so I decided to borrow it.

Age 5 months 12 days

Words/sounds He’s learning to blow raspberries and babbles all.the.time. He’s started saying “mamamama” and “dadadada”. So fun. We know he’s just babbling but it’s fun to hear!

Something else exciting that happened recently, Abe got a nice buck! Grady didn’t know what to think of it

I hope to update again soon with pictures from Grady’s first Christmas as well as his meeting with Santa. I just have to get the pictures uploaded

Merry Christmas!

Our big boy is already four months old!

He is about 17 and  a half pounds, 29 inches tall and active, active, active. He is learning to sit in a little baby seat and can tripod sit for a little bit before eventually toppling over.

A big development is that he has his first tooth! It’s his bottom, middle, right tooth I’ll miss his gummy grin but he’ll be cute with teeth too, I’m sure.

He is just so much fun and we love watching him grow and change from day-to-day.

I just wanted to share one of my favorite recent pictures of him. If y’all know me, you know I LOVE the holiday season, so of course I was anxious to try some of Grady’s Christmas gear out.

We can’t believe our little big man is already three (well, due to the tardiness of this post, three-and-a-half) months old! Time is just passing by so quickly these days. Grady now weighs about 17 lbs. Still a whopper. We’re not sure how long he is now but will find out at his four month well check! He seems to grow every single day.

Some fun things Grady is now doing:

- Babbling A LOT. If you talk to him, he intently listens then talks back

- He’s laughing a lot more now! He’s a ticklish little fellah. So cute.

- He likes to hold toys then put them in his mouth. He is playing more in general!

- Rolling is in the very near future. He gets all the way up on one side but just can’t make it all the way over just yet. I have a feeling he is going to be mobile before we know what hit us.

He will sometimes sleep from the time we put him in his bed at night, around 8 – 8:30, until about 5 the next morning. How blissful. Most of the time, he is still waking around 3 or so to eat. We don’t mind and feel rested for the most part.

He is just an absolute joy and we love having him in our life! He’s such a sweet, cuddly little fellah.

I still have to take a family picture this month

I keep saying I’ll update the blog more often but we all see how well that’s working out. I have tons of sessions to blog, house pictures to show off with all the changes we’ve made, etc. but I feel so busy with projects, editing and caring for Grady that it’s hard to find time for blogging. Excuses, excuses – I know.

In somewhat big news – our home is going to be featured on the Christmas Homes Tour in Hope. All ticket sales benefit the Yellow Trail Museum so buy a ticket and come out and see us! The tour takes place the first Friday of December. You can purchase tickets at Strawberry Fields Mercantile or the Yellow Trail Museum though I’m not sure when ticket sales begin. I’ll be sure to post pictures of the house once it’s all decked out in Christmas splendor!

We’re not sure how heavy/long Grady is, but he sure is growing!

And he sure is precious

He’s getting better and better at holding his head up. It seems like he “talks” more, smiles more and wiggles more every day! We’re in shock that he is already two whole months old!

I keep thinking to myself how it’s incredible he’s already been here two months but how it feels like he should have been here all along… Parenthood is incredible! We feel so incredibly blessed to have this amazing little boy in our lives.

It’s been two months of bliss for The3Carmans

We went to the doctor today for a little check-up and the little big man weighs 13 lbs 1 oz! I just find that hard to believe He’s growing bigger and stronger by the day.

And I had to take a picture of the whole family! It was so hot out but I’m very glad we took the time to get out and take it.

I’m back to work and taking new sessions so hopefully I’ll be able to post a new session run-down and keep this blog a little better updated. I hope this post finds you all well!

On the 14th, Abe took a half day from work to come with me to the ultrasound just in case. We also threw our hospital bags in the car as we were walking out the door. We hadn’t really expected to need them but I had a feeling we might be heading toward an induction, I just wasn’t sure of when. We got to our appointment and the ultrasound measurements showed the baby was in the 97th percentile weighing around 10 and a half pounds. I was, apparently, carrying a whopper of a baby. My doctor said that while the ultrasound could be a pound or two off, she did not feel comfortable letting the baby get any bigger, especially since I was now 40 weeks 2 days pregnant. So, straight from our appointment, we headed to the hospital to begin a pitocin drip.

My doctor came to check on me at the hospital after a few hours. I was having mild contractions but nothing too exciting. When I had been checked upon arriving, I had no additional progress from my last appointment. We began discussing the size of the baby, the risks of attempting a vaginal birth, the fact that the baby’s head was apparently not engaging (hence no progress), etc. When we discussed the probability of shoulder distocia and the associated risks, my doctor as well as Abe and I felt that a cesarean was the way to go.

We had quite the wait, about five hours, for an operating room to open up so Abe and I settled in my hospital bed and watched the ESPN ESPYs. It was funny and helped the time to pass. I tried to nap but, yeah, I was getting ready to meet my baby and couldn’t get a wink in Finally, the nurses came to get me and we were on our way!

In the operating room, the medical staff was amazing. We were joking around the entire time, they answered all the questions I had with compassion, the anestheseologist was amazing and I didn’t even feel the spinal block going in, etc. I was so scared of a c-section but it turned out to be a truly enjoyable, not-at-all scary experience. I feel so thankful to have been blessed with an amazing medical team because the c-section is such a big surgery. I’ve been feeling great and have no pain! Anyhow, while delivering our big boy, the doctor kept saying how big the baby’s head was and how he was having quite the tough time pulling he baby out! I knew we’d made the right decision, hearing everyone saying how big the baby was. Not to be too graphic but one of the nurses assisting in the delivery actually had to stand on a step stool and push the baby down while the doctor had suction on he baby’s head! Abe said I was rocking all over the place but I couldn’t feel anything – not even pressure. It was surreal!

Finally, the baby was born! Hearing that first cry was incredible, knowing “BC” had finally arrived… I can’t explain the emotions going through me! They held the baby up so Abe could announce the sex – “It’s a boy!”

Our Grady Abram Carman had finally arrived weighing a whopping 10 lbs 3 oz. He was 21.5. inches long and had a powerful set of lungs right from the start. I watched my doctor (who was amazing – even though she didn’t perform my surgery, she stayed with me the entire time and took care of Grady after he was born) and a nurse cleaning Grady. Abe got to cut his cord shorter so I was so glad he got to experience that It was truly an amazing, emotional, wonderful experience even though it wasn’t how we anticipated meeting our baby. I wouldn’t change a thing!

So, now Grady is eight days old (how is this possible?!) and we are settling in nicely at home. It has been such a happy, easy transition for us. Grady is an absolute JOY and such a well-tempered little (big?) guy. He loves to eat which means I’m a little tired but it’s so worth it I can truly say I’ve never fallen in love with anyone so fast or with such ferocity! I cry looking at him I just love him so, so, so much. Abe is a wonderful father and takes amazing care of both me and Grady. Since I had a c-section I’m a little limited in what I can do and Abe has taken on my responsibilities wihout complaint and is always sure to check if I’m comfortable, if I’m hungry, if I need anything, etc. He rocks my socks off! He is absolutely smitten with our baby boy. How could we not be?! Grady is just beautiful and precious and perfect.

So, that’s Grady’s story so far! We’re very much looking forward to the adventures to come with our boy! Life is so great We are so incredibly thankful and so blessed.
